Texas Reds Steakhouse and Saloon in Red River

Very friendly and great service. I had the pork chops, they were great!! Will recommend to others. Very nice and cozy steakhouse. Prices a little up there but they again it's off a resort & a steakhouse other than that everything was awesome and tasted real good!!

I've never actually eaten here. We didn't realize this was one of those peanut shell on the floor places and my sister is crazy allergic. I hope to be able to eat here in the future because I hear good things so I'll leave it at 5 stars. Also my mom lost her phone in here while rushing my sister out of the building because of the peanuts. Kinda need to pick that up soon. We leaving jun 21 so of you see this can we pick it up before 11 am or 12?Edit: it was kinda dumb for me to write that last part but when we called they were very nice and shipped us the phone.

I had the Buffalo Rib-Eye. Not the best buffalo cut I've had. My date's New York strip was more than decent. Salads came out too heavy on the blue cheese dressing (which had a very sour flavor?). Service was pleasant and accommodating despite the COVID-19 restrictions.Willing to give the place another shot, but this trip wasn't all that tasty or memorable.

Always a great place to go. The staff is great and the food is excellent. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Always a place I take the family to. They love the peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor. Food is always consistent with no surprises.

The service was great! Good was fantastic! We shared a big rib eye, nice salad, huge mashed potatoe, and the 4 of us shared a fried okra side. I honestly kind of expected the steak and potatoes to be stellar. But the fried okra! THAT was the sleeper! We sat outside, under the tent. It was such a perfect evening, I wish it had been wide open. But with the thunder storms, I understand why the tent is needed. I understand the original Texas Reds was legendary, or friend talked about how awesome it was. BUT he was not disappointed (that alone should be high marks).We will be back when we are in the area.

I got the buffalo ribeye, with fried okra and was not disappointed at all! Amazing place and environment. I recommend trying it if you haven't already. My favorite place to eat in red river

Then eating here for over 40 years starting in the original building. There was a lull in the quality after the fire when they moved into the mother lode but it is definitely come back and great food again.

Our food was great !!! Steaks were the best !! A very enjoyable place to eat !! Staff was great !!!

Good food....but very busy

Not bad, typical tourist town restaurant. A little steep on there prices, all and all it wasn't bad.

Service was very poor my steak was not cooked right and overly priced. soup was way thick for clam chowder soup when we go back to red river we will not go back there we felt very rushed Very uncomfortable feeling there rude staff that rung us up

Filet mignon was cooked perfectly! The food was definitely yummy. B was super attentive to our table. Would definitely go back!

Elk burger and bison burger are my favorite but you can't go wrong with any dish here! We always eat here when we are in town. I highly recommend.

Reading the reviews I was hesitant to try this restaurant. Our family of 17 has a ski weekend and our last night wanted to eat somewhere nice. So we decided to try this one. We were seated within a few min. Our waitress Janie was awesome. She got our drink orders and appetizers out fast and they were delicious. Everyone who had salad and soups got them quick also. When it came to the entree’s I was very impressed all orders were out and hot. I will be honest with all of the steak and fish orders I figured something would be wrong, cold or etc. But everything was great. Our waitress was very attentive and I would definitely recommend others to visit here.

The filet mignon was perfect. Expect a wait to be seated. It's a resort town steak house.

Seriously, the best place in Northern New Mexico (the Eagle Nest, Angle Fire, and of course Red River area). I’ve been coming to Texas Reds since 1977. It’s ridiculous if anyone gives this place anything less than 5 stars. Peanuts shells on the floor, cocktails, beer, awesome steaks and great atmosphere - it’s been a tradition since the old location, then also in Eagle Nest (yeah, I was jonesing on their steaks then as well). What is wrong with this place???? Nothing. I Love Texas Reds, one of the reasons I still love to come to northern New Mexico... Texas Reds, don’t change, stay true, we love you. I’m almost 55, and I’ll be here several times more per year, hopefully until I’m 90+. If you have a bad experience here, it’s not them, it’s you. I’ve been all over the world, I lived in Texas all my life for Christ sake... I’ll take Texas Reds over any place. That’s my credo, I’m not drunk, it’s just that good. Peace to you.

Steak is around $100 for 2. Had trout next time, not good! Cheaper, but disappointing.

I always enjoy eating here. The steaks are tender and not to expensive. The live music is always good and of course to dine and be in Red River is at the top of my list. Have enjoyed RR since I was a small boy Love the Ambience and the fact that you're nestled in a valley and boy is it nice.

O had the Buffalo steak and it was fabulous! The staff was also so sweet and on point!

If I could give a less than one star review I would. We arrived at 530, were quoted an hour wait time. Spent the next hour and a half at the bar running up a large tab, never were seated. After all that, went to check out status, and was told there were 3 more parties ahead of us. Absolutely worst hostess service I have ever experienced. Fairly certain parties were being placed ahead of us via phone. Would give an honest review of the food, but I don’t know because we never got seated.

Had a hamburger. It very good. Prepared the way I ordered. Just about the same price as a burger in a restaurant in the Dallas/Fort worth area. The atmosphere was warm, with a guitarist, and violinist who played and sang though, not loudly.

The Buffalo burger is to die for!!! Buffalo Steak good but not $39's good!

We had a great time. The ribeye was huge and cooked perfectly. Service was great.

My wife had the front and it was great. I had the elk burger and it was tasty. A little bit more done than what I like but the flavor was on the spot. Live music was really good and not a CD but a really good singer. Do not miss this one while you are in red River.

From the time we walked in the door, until we left, it was a great experience. We had the lamb and trout, both were fantastic. The service was outstanding. They had an acoustic guitar player that played classic country. I can't wait to return.

Food is expensive and the servings are small and not properly accompanied. Service could be improved. We didn't enjoy our dinner at all. I wouldn't recommend. The only thing we liked was the live music.

Visited 30 years ago and still a great steakhouse in Red River. Different location but just as good. Great service, good food.

Great atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff. We were there last Friday night and there was live music as well. It was perfect!!!

Excellent place to dine. Music was awesome and the ribeye is the best we've ever had. Pricey, but its a ski town and tourist trap, but still lovely. Food was great. Highly reccomend and was very kid friendly.

Great old fashioned steakhouse. Ample portions, great atmosphere. We did a wedding locally, decided to stay in Red River at the Lodge. We didn't want go looking for a restaurant so we have Texas Red's a try. Great choice.

Pricing is too high for quality of food. Baked potato was dry. Service was great. Bread was delicious. Steak was cooked as ordered. Apple pie was ok but nothing to brag about. Live music was good. Ordered a 10 oz. Rib eye cooked medium with baked potato and salad which was a bit skimpy. Overall a good experience.

Old school steakhouse in Red River. We dine here every year while on our ski trip. Throw your peanut shells on the floor and have a steak. Recommend!!

Music is LOUD, you have a speakers above every table. The guy \ guys never take a break, are they good,? just mundane, over and over and over the same........................................................................... Loud. Not worth an exclamation point.

Great food, but definitely expensive

We have eaten here many times. The food is always outstanding and the owners are amazing people. We also love the live music from Mike Addington- the house entertainment.
